Micah Nelson is a social studies teacher for grades six through eight at the Center for Inquiry School 2, an International Baccalaureate magnet program in Indianapolis Public Schools. She has taught secondary social studies in IPS for 13 years. Ms. Nelson uses a progressive approach to building understanding, including experiential and project-based learning. She also focuses on literacy and writing skills in the content areas.
Ms. Nelson graduated from Purdue University in 2004 with degrees in history and education. She went on to complete her master’s in teacher leadership from Butler University in 2011. She is currently pursuing a master’s in education administration from Butler University. In her free time, Ms. Nelson enjoys reading, camping, and spending time with her family.
