  • This site is zoned Medium Industrial Urban (I-3-U) and Neighborhood Commercial (C-3). A former Ford Assembly plant built in 1914, the original building is four stories and totals approximately 165,700 sq. ft. A one-story 41,400 sq. ft. building addition came later, and the property includes outside storage along E. Washington St. Cars were assembled on site until 1932, and Ford used the buildings for administrative purposes until 1942. Ford sold the building to the P.R. Mallory Company, who deeded the property to IPS in 1979. Currently, IPS uses the building as a warehouse. The property immediately east houses the Ivy Tech Automotive Technology Program. Angie’s List owns 1.88 acres to the west, with its headquarters just to the northwest on E. Washington St. The property is included in the Indy East Promise Zone. Promise Zones are designated areas which provide preferred access to federal grants and programs, offering designees a competitive advantage, as permissible under program rules.
