Stress Busters! Life continues to be hectic for you and your kids, I know. We live in a fast paced, exciting, but also overwhelming society. Here are a few things to help. - Exercise. Physical activity helps your body and mind both now and as a protective health measure for your future. Doing things together as a family helps you model this for your children and engage them in fun, memory making activities. Take a jog or go for a walk together. Look up fun kid friendly workout videos on YouTube. Do yoga. Shoot some hoops. Kick a soccer ball around in a circle. Make it fun by having to keep it off the ground! Just get moving! - Eat a balanced diet. Try to eat from all of the food groups. Eat less junk and eat more delicious nutritious food.- Take a time out. Deep breathing is simple and helpful! Stepping away from a problem, taking deep breathes and then looking at it again with a calm brain does wonders for your problem-solving abilities. – Let go of perfectionism and comparing yourself, your house, your kids, your car, your whatever with anyone else’s. Focus on what you do have and what you are thankful for. Daily make a habit of writing down at least 5 things you are thankful for each day. Gratitude changes your attitude! -Get involved. Being active in your community/school actually benefits you as well as the organization you help. Humans are happiest when we feel we have meaning and purpose and getting involved with organizations that do things we believe in connects us to something greater than us.-Remember to do these things yourself too!
