Your Investment at Work: IPS Projects Transform Schools Before Students Return

While students enjoy their final weeks of summer break, hundreds of Indianapolis Public Schools employees and contractors are working across the district on projects ranging from new windows at Shortridge High School and electrical upgrades at Broad Ripple Middle School to expanded learning space at KIPP Indy, along with countless maintenance, technology, and safety improvements — all aimed at ensuring students return this fall to schools that are safer, more comfortable, and better equipped to support learning.

Students at Arsenal Technical High School and Harshman Middle School will have new opportunities to develop their musical talents this year, thanks to instrument donations funded by the Morgan Wallen Foundation (MWF).

As part of Wallen’s 2026 Tour Give Back Program, Arsenal Tech received $28,135 worth of instruments and accessories, including flugelhorns, electric guitars, amplifiers, marching mellophones, trombones, and a tenor saxophone.

For 90 students across Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), this past spring brought more than graduation celebrations and college acceptance letters — it brought new opportunities to pursue their dreams. The Indianapolis Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) recently completed its fourth annual Scholarship Program, coordinating more than $170,000 in scholarships to support students as they take the next step in their educational journeys.
