Supporting Student Dreams Through More Than $170,000 in Scholarships

 

For 90 students across Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS), this past spring brought more than graduation celebrations and college acceptance letters — it brought new opportunities to pursue their dreams.

The Indianapolis Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) recently completed its fourth annual Scholarship Program, coordinating more than $170,000 in scholarships to support students as they take the next step in their educational journeys.

The scholarship program includes several funds designed to meet students where they are and recognize the many paths to success. Scholarships prioritize a variety of focus areas, including academic achievement, financial need, and areas of interest such as STEM, arts, vocational training, and athletics. Together, these investments are supporting students from across the entire IPS family of schools.

For many students, scholarships provide more than financial assistance; they provide confidence, encouragement, and the ability to pursue opportunities that may have once felt out of reach, noted Kelly Karbowicz Riley, the foundation’s chief executive officer. 

“These scholarships are a promise to our students: we see you, we believe in you, and we are committed to helping you build your future,” she said. “We know that financial support at the right moment can change the entire trajectory of a student's life, and none of this is possible without our generous donors and partners. Together, we are investing in our students and in the future of our entire community.”
