Degrees and Certifications:
M.S. in Secondary education, IUPUI B.A. in French at Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN
I came to the US in 1977 as a Vietnamese boat refugee with my family and two set of clothes. While adapting to life in the states I attended Saint Mary’s College and went on to receive my masters at IUPUI. In addition, I graduated from Butler University’s administrative program (EPPSP Group 11). I have been teaching for 36 years in both the public and private sectors ranging from middle school up to college level.
In the spring of 2018 I lost my husband of 32 years to Kidney Cancer. We have one daughter who is studying Engineering at Purdue University. I am fluent in 3.5 languages, love to travel, and have a passion for the arts.
My teaching philosophy is one of life-long learning. I am doing my best to give back to the community that has given me so much. My goal is to help young scholars develop to their highest potential in and out of the classroom. I have always seen math as the sole universal language and believe that all of my students have the power to succeed no matter the circumstances. My favorite quote is:
“Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.”
