Mr. Terion Cooper
Mr. Cooper grew up 15 minutes West of Michigan State University and completed his undergrad degrees at Grand Valley State University. Before college, it was his middle school and high school years that aided in shaping the teacher his is today. In those secondary years he attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, auditioned for their International Symphony Band and immediately a love of travel was born. Through the years he has had the privilege to travel to Europe to perform, vacation and study. His love of music has led to a love of cultures that morphed into degrees in music education and French. Mr. Cooper began teaching in Michigan and currently in his ninth year in Indianapolis Public Schools.
Outside of school he sings with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir and directs, Choristers, a choir for first and second graders, at 2nd Presbyterian Church. Mr. Cooper is currently persuing his masters degree at Butler University and has completed 2 of the 3 levels towards becoming a Kodàly, a type of music literacy, certified teacher. Mr. Cooper is a life-long learner who enjoys experimenting with technology and drinking copious amounts of coffee. He is very excited to be working with the scholars of Shortridge High School and to see what can accomplished together. Viva la musica
