Enrolling In IPS

Overview

There is a two-step process for a student interested in attending an IPS school:

  1. Enrollment – Apply for a seat through Enroll Indy’s system.
  2. Registration – Fill out student information in PowerSchool* registration.

*Enroll Indy will email you the PowerSchool registration link after your seat is secured.

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Step 1: Enrollment (Enroll Indy)

All families must enroll through Enroll Indy to secure a seat at an IPS school.

School Zones

Families may select any school in the same zone as their current home address. Click here to learn about the four IPS’ zones and the schools in each zone

If families choose to attend a school outside of their zone, transportation will not be provided. More information about transportation eligibility can be found here.

How to Enroll

Option A: OneMatch Lottery Application

Results of the lottery will be released after the lottery window closes.

  • Round 1 results are released February 20, 2026
  • Round 2 results are released May 1, 2026

After lottery results are released, families will receive the PowerSchool registration link to complete Step 2 of the process and register their student. Families that do not complete Step 2 within 30 days will be at risk of losing their school seat.

Option B: Open Seat Portal

  • Available starting June 2026
  • The Open Seat Portal lists all remaining available seats in real-time.
  • Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Student STN or school ID number is required.
  • Access the Open Seat Portal (must create or log in to Enroll Indy account).

After claiming a seat using the Open Seat Portal, families must continue to Step 2 of the process to register their student. Families that do not complete Step 2 within 30 days will be at risk of losing their school seat.

Visit Enroll Indy’s website for more information.

Step 2: Registration (PowerSchool)

Families will receive a PowerSchool registration link after securing a school seat through the lottery or Portal. This link collects all personal information needed to set up your student in IPS systems for:

  • Class registration.
  • Grade tracking.
  • Teacher assignments.
  • Other school services.

PowerSchool Registration support: Call 317-226-4000 and select Option 2.
