No. The tuition options detailed above are the only tuition options available this school year. Please note that we do accept CCDF and On My Way PreK vouchers towards tuition. Depending on the value of the voucher, a co-pay and/or overage will also be collected.

Possibly. If your family has a CCDF or OMWPK voucher, you are required to pay co-pay and / or overage charges per voucher guidelines. The voucher copays and overages are determined by CCDF and OMWPK income guidelines, IPS has no role in determining this. These fees will be collected electronically, via credit card, debit card, or e-check.  More payment information will be provided to families prior to the student start date.

Families will pay tuition monthly via an electronic payment system; no cash transactions will be accepted. A payment link will be provided to families. Electronic payments will be accepted via credit card, debit card, or e-check (withdrawn from bank). There is an associated credit card fee of 3.59% + $0.59 (around $20/month) which families will be responsible for paying if using a credit or debit card. If families pay via e-check, the fee is $0.95 per transaction. More payment information will be provided to families prior to the student start date.  Late fees will accrue after the 6^th of each month.  Unpaid balances will result in withdrawal from Pre-K by the 10^th of the month.

IPS does not receive any funding for Pre-K and remains committed to providing high quality early learning environments and instruction by qualified certified teachers. The programming, materials/supplies, staffing, and benefits are all paid through IPS general funds. The cost for Pre-K is expansive and continues to increase. With the recent substantial cuts in Indiana state funding and changes in eligibility for CCDF or OMWPK vouchers, the expenses for Pre-K have unfortunately increased again. Like many other preschool providers throughout Indiana, the financial liability is overwhelming. As a result, to ensure the sustainability of IPS Pre-K, we discontinued reduced and no cost/ free tuition and are implementing a nominal monthly tuition to continue this much needed programming to our community. Please refer to our tuition chart for more information on the applicable tuition rate for your family. 

Yes, IPS Pre-K is open to families who reside outside of the IPS boundary. During Enroll Indy Rounds 1 and 2, enrollment priority will be given to families who reside within the IPS boundary which is also the standard for student enrollment for grades K-12.

No, families will not be billed for the weeks where school is closed due to planned breaks. Pre-K to 12th grade students attend school 180 days out of the year. Pre-K families will only pay for those 180 days, and will not be billed for days when school is not in session.  School breaks and out of session days have already been factored in the monthly tuition. The monthly tuition is expected regardless of Pre-K student attendance to maintain enrollment in Pre-K.  All outstanding balances must be paid in full in order for a Pre-K student to be enrolled at any location.  Late fees will accrue after the 6^th of each month.  Unpaid balances will result in withdrawal from Pre-K by the 10^th of the month.

No, this fee does not include before/after care. Tuition is only for the PreK programming offered during school hours. This is consistent with our surrounding school districts, who also charge a weekly fee that only includes their school day programming; they charge an additional fee for before/after care as well. Additionally, our weekly fee is comparable to, and in some cases, less than several surrounding townships. You are welcome to check with your local before/after school provider for information about before/after care; these programs operate separate from IPS.

Yes. Families are required to pay for the 180 days that Pre-K is in session, regardless of student attendance. Monthly tuition will not be prorated or reduced based on a child’s attendance. We recommend that travel/vacation plans are scheduled during published school breaks, as families are not required to pay for those published days when school is closed. Additionally, failure to pay monthly tuition will result in withdrawal from the PreK program and a student cannot be reenrolled until outstanding previous balances are paid in full.  *Note: We will adhere to CCDF and OMWPK voucher attendance guidelines for families receiving those vouchers. In such cases, failure to comply with CCDF and OMWPK voucher attendance guidelines may result in the termination of that voucher and families will be required to pay the ”full” monthly tuition to maintain enrollment in the Pre-K classroom. 

Tuition is due on or by the 3rd of each month by 11:59pm ET. Payments received on or after the 6th of each month are considered late and a late payment fee of $25 will accrue after 2 occurrences of late payments. Late payment fees must be paid before the 10th in the same month of the late payment occurrence. If the tuition or late payment fee is not paid in full by the 10th of the month, the student will be withdrawn from the program without further notice. Payment arrangements or partial payments will not be accepted. If a payment is considered “fraudulent” at any time, payment for the outstanding balance is due within 24 hours or student will be withdrawn without further notice.

CCDF and OMWPK vouchers are administered by the state of Indiana. To complete an application for CCDF or OMWPK voucher, click here Early Ed Connect or contact (800) 299-1627 or earlycare@fssa.in.gov.  Please note that IPS does not have any involvement, impact or influence on family qualifications for a CCDF or OMWPK voucher. Families are solely responsible for the application, maintenance, and reauthorization of the CCDF/OMWPK Voucher. Childcare assistance vouchers from other states are not transferable into IPS. IPS only accepts Indiana Child Care Assistance Vouchers (CCDF/ OMWPK).

These processes can be complex and we are here to help our families successfully navigate that complexity.

Students can return to school after the outstanding balances are paid in full AND all payments have cleared. This can take up to 2 business days (or more) depending on your payment vendor. Pre-K seats will be held for only 7 calendar days after a student is withdrawn for non-payment. Pre-K seats will be filled by students on the waiting list after 7 calendar days of a vacancy. We cannot guarantee a pre-k seat after 7 calendar days; we will offer a pre-k seat wherever a vacancy exists after outstanding balances are paid in full.
