When 3,000 IPS third-graders entered Hinkle Fieldhouse at Butler University in mid-January for the kickoff to the Read to the Final Four Competition, it was anyone's guess as to which team would end up winning the reading competition.
But each week, classrooms throughout our district competed for the most minutes read. During each round, teams would move up, fall down or completely fall of the radar.
The competition went from 80 classrooms to the Round of 32, then the Sweet 16, Elite Eight and the Final Four until only the last two teams were left standing. But in the end it was William McKinley School 39 and Carle Wilde School 79 battling it out.
