How to Ride

IndyGo is the largest transit agency in Indiana, and can help you reach your destination easily and affordably!

Know How to Plan Your Trip

Use Google Maps, the Transit app, or the IndyGo trip planner to get step-by-step directions, including what route to take, what bus to board, where to board, and what time the bus is departing.

You can also call 317.635.3344 to get trip planning assistance, or plan by hand with route maps.

Know How to Ride

• Arrive at your stop a few minutes before it is scheduled to depart.
• Double-check you are on the correct side of the street for the desired direction of travel.
• Make sure you are visible to the operator and stand near the bus stop sign.
• Check the destination sign on the bus to make sure it is the correct bus and route before you board.
• IndyGo buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts or ramps and securement devices. All buses have "kneeling" capabilities, which lowers the height of the first step onto the bus. Any rider may request the use of the ramps or kneeling function, regardless of ability.

MyKey+ Transit Pass

Starting August 1, IPS students who have been identified as IndyGo riders will receive an enrollment email from "noreply@justride.com" titled Welcome to IndyGo, plus the student's school name. Students should use this email to set up their MyKey+ account.

• Check your spam or junk folder. The "Welcome to IndyGo" email comes from noreply@justride.com. If you don't see it in your inbox after August 1, look in your spam or junk folder before assuming it hasn't arrived.

Set up your MyKey+ account (recommended)

Students can use the MyKey+ mobile app by following the email's step-by-step instructions to create an account and generate a QR code token. Additional guidance is available on IndyGo's MyKey+ website.

Prefer a physical card?

Alternatively, students who prefer a physical card must visit the Customer Service Desk at the Julia Carson Transit Center, 201 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday–Friday. To obtain the card, students must bring:

• A printed copy of the Welcome to IndyGo email, and
• A valid form of identification, such as a state ID, birth certificate, current student ID, or an official school attendance printout.

Eligibility criteria for students assigned to IndyGo are:

• There are no bus transfers required to get to school.
• No more than 1.0 miles walking total (including both home → bus stop + bus stop → school).
• No more than 50 minutes total journey time.
